We hope you join us because it's FUN to do something different, and die cuts are kind of an "old" style of paper crafting. Just look at what the Card Design Team has come up with!
But, first let me introduce you to our Guest Designer this week:
Hello, I’m Jane Hewitt, I’m a Primary school teacher and I live in Scotland with my husband and 5 delinquent cats. I love all kinds of crafts including scrapbooking, card making, altered art, drawing, painting, cross-stitch sewing, patchwork, feltmaking, cake decorating and oh the list is endless! I also love to swim and play the saxophone (though not at the same time!). I have been card making for as long as I remember and even as a little girl my mum and I would make our own Christmas cards. I am a designer for A Trip Down Memory Lane in UK and teach classes at my crop here in Scotland.
Here is her fabulous card:
And just so you can see how many she used, a close up of her die cuts:
I am thrilled to be invited as a guest designer for this week! When I found out the card challenge for this week was die cuts I headed straight over to my mum’s to borrow her Cricut! I wanted to make a card for my Great Aunt who is in a care home and thought a bunch of flowers would be perfect to cheer up her room. I used all the flowers I could find from several different cartridges. This is not my usual style but I was pleased with the result. I look forward to seeing everyone else’s cards now!
Jane, thanks so much for playing along with us this week! Your card is absolutely amazing! We love your die cut bouquet!
And now.....*drumroll*....here are the CDT's work:
Anita used a star punch to make a bunch of white stars. Then she embossed two with silver, and one with black glitter, one more with glitter, and two with micro beads! They look awesome:
Jerusha used some holiday die cuts that she received from a friend, who made them on her cricut using the Paper Dolls cartridge. Jerusha added some stickles and then the card was born:
Corinne was inspired by Dani's flowers on her card from the Upcycling challenge and used her punch to make one too:
Mel used a die cut from the Queen Bee Pink Paislee line, and punched a butterfly from coordinating papers in the same line to create her card:
Sandi used her Give A Hoot cricut cartridge and broke out the Glimmer Mist for her card this week:
JJ made this gorgeous card using Tim Holtz dies (including the flower, how amazing is that?). She aslso used her Martha Stewart punches:
Emily used a Tim Holtz die key hole and a tag die to make her vintagey Christmas card.
Now it's your turn - let's see your die cut cards! Get your card posted here by Saturday August 14th at 8PM EST. Then winners will be posted here on Sunday the 15th. If you are the lucky winner - you will receive a Guest DT spot with the card team for the week of August 22nd and a 15% off your next order in the LCOM store.
Can't wait to see what you create!! Have a wonderful day!
