Krustyland

Krustyland by Brittney Aldous

I can't believe that the month is pretty much over, and that means this is my last layout using the 4 Heures 37 collection. One thing that totally won me over with this collection is that even though it is travel-themed, it's not over-the-top, and can be used for every day photos as well! For my last project though, I did go with a bit of a travel theme - just because they're our newest photos. But really, these photos could've been taken anywhere, even in our back yard, because these papers just work so well with everything!

Pushing 40

Pushing 40
by Nicole Nowosad

Supplies used:
Pink Paislee Daily Junque Ephemra
Pink Paislee Mini notes & labels

My favorite thing about the Pink Paislee - Daily Junque collection has to be the mini banner like tabs on the paper. They are really all the rage right now, and the paper line has these images all over it!

For this page, I added a few of the MME label stickers and they blended right into the pattern of the papers:
and the Elle's Studio tags do the same thing!
There are lots of neat goodies tucked away in the Let's Capture Our Memories store.... what are you waiting for.. check something out ;)

Just Chillin'

Hi Everyone,
I'm back with my final layout using Fancy Pants Beach Babe Line. I've had so much fun with this great collection! The colors are so bright and cheery and are perfect for your summer and vacation layouts! This picture is from my family's trip the the Florida Keys last April. My daughter was so happy to just sit by the pool, relax, read and listen to her iPod!!

I misted some Maya Road zipper trim and spiraled it around on a Gluber to create my big flower.

I didn't have any alpha's I felt coordinated with my colors, so I painted some chipboard letters using an Adirondack Paint dauber. Paint daubers are a perfect way to customize chipboard!

That's it for today. I'll be back next week with a birthday layout using Hip Hooray paper from My Mind's Eye!

Another 5 & Dime Project

By Krissy Clark McKee

How could I play with the oh-so-fun October Afternoon 5 & Dime collection without doing a layout? I couldn't! The 5 & Dime papers have a wonderful vintage vibe, harkening back to an era of innocence, so they were perfect for a picture of my sister-in-law and sweet little niece.

I followed Sketch #90 found here at the LCOM SKETCH BLOG, which allowed me to to layer and combine just about every spare scrap piece of paper left over from my earlier projects. I had the Jenni Bowlin background paper forever because I couldn't find anything to go with it, but it coordinated perfectly with my 5 & Dime papers.

I really loved using the stickers from the 12x12 Shape Stickers Page, the buttons, and the ephemera from the Miscellany Kit. They were so pretty and added the perfect vintage touches needed to complete my layout!

My fun with October Afternoon has now come to an end, but I'll be back next month playing with products from your favorite guy and mine - Tim Holtz!

History 'Buffs'

I love to travel. I honestly try to head somewhere out of the country once a year. And because of that, I have a lot of vacation photos and I'm always looking for the next best travel line. Well, if you're like me, look no further -
4 Heures 37 has exactly what you're looking for!

On this page, I used more of the generic papers (there are some french-themed papers which I'm excited to use with my Paris photos!) because I thought they went well with these pictures from Italy. One of my absolute favorites that 4 Heures 37 has are these super cute little clouds. They're thicker than cardstock so they're not flimsy, but they're not ridiculously thick that your page will not fit in your page protector. Seriously, these clouds are the cutest things ever.

I did some hidden journaling, but I thought I'd pull it out a bit for the photos so you could see it!

Speaking of which, I hear LCOM will be having an amazing sale on Monday to celebrate Christmas in July! Don't miss it!!

Sweet Vintage Cards

By Krissy Clark McKee

I was really inspired by the wonderful cards recently made by Nicole using Pink Paislee papers, and I decided to try my hand making my own cards using the sweet, almost old-fashioned looking papers from October Afternoon's 5 & Dime Collection.

The papers are perfect for adding stitching and border punched edges. And the cards from the Miscellany Kit or the Sticker Page make the cutest, best embellishments. I can't wait to send these cards to my friends!

Here are the other two cards I thoroughly enjoyed making:

You are Here

Hi Everyone.. I'm back with some more Beach Babe from Fancy Pants. The colors in this line were perfect to highlight some of the pictures from our trip to the Florida Keys last April... all very tropical and cheery!!
One of the must-do photo stops for us was the Caroline Street sign. Not only is it one of the most famous streets in Key West, but it's also my daughter's name. We couldn't resist!

I had fun with the great embellies that come with the Beach Babe line... the rub-ons, flowers, buttons and cardstock die cuts are all fabulous... it was hard to choose!
I did a little hand stitching to make a "sun" and couldn't resist adding a Whimsy cloud.

A little Glimmer mist and some bling for the flip flops and the layout was complete! I'll be back next week with my final LO using Fancy Pants Beach Babe. Don't forget to check out all of the goodies at the LCOM store for your Summer layouts.

5 & Dime Mini-Album Fun!

By Krissy Clark McKee

Do you love the look of mini-albums but think they are too hard or time consuming to make? If that's the case, you have GOT to get October Afternoon's Mini-Album kit. It comes with four board shapes and pre-cut paper from the 5 & Dime collection so all you have to do is decide which paper you like best and glue it on!

The 5 & Dime Collection has a great vintage feel to it so I decided my album would focus on a few of my favorite pictures and memories from my family's past.

I didn't want to worry about where I would fit my journaling on each page so I created journaling inserts to go with each page by using the 12 x 12 Shape Stickers and cards found in the Miscellany Kit from the collection.

I added buttons and images cut from the 5 & Dime Root Beer Barrels paper along with the Word Stickers and Image Rubons, which were the perfect embellishments. A few Prima swirls, a stick pin or two and some Jillibean Soup corrugated frames and flowers, and I had a mini-album that I wanted to carry around with me and show off to EVERYONE! See how cute October Afternoon made my pages look?

This is what the page looks like with the journaling tag in front of it:

And this is what the tag and the page look like individually. As you can see, the tag started out as a card from the Miscellany Kit. I simply hole punched it, painted it with crackle paint to give it an aged appearance, added paper for journaling on the back and as many cute embellies as it could hold!

I repeated the same process each time:

And here are a couple more pictures of the front and back of my journaling card inserts - so easy to make, and this method let me use even MORE buttons, rub-ons and other ephemera - always a good thing!

I hope you have enjoyed looking at my mini-album as much as I have enjoyed making it. It was incredibly easy and so much fun! And right now, the LCOM STORE has given you even MORE options because Kristine Davidson has taken all the fun October Afternoon supplies and created a complete KIT available for pre-order! So head over to the STORE and get started on your own mini-album today - it's just a mouse-click away!

by Nicole Nowosad

Supplies used:

I couldn't resist attempting to make a few more masculine birthday cards with this kit. There are lots of fun patterns that are definately girly, but there are some items that are pretty masculine too! I just love the look of the Ephemra pack and Mini notes & label items,  and thought they were perfect additions to some cards.

You can really stretch your supplies when you use bits and pieces of the papers to make some cards for a friend or family member.  All you have to do is add a few buttons, or twine and voila you have a quick and simple card ready to go! The Daily Junque collection really has everything you need!
