May Color Spot

Good morning!

Can you believe it's May already?  We can't wait for the warm weather to catch up!  Mother Nature hasn't been very happy lately.  It's still so very cold, windy and we're still getting some flurries!!! Flip Flop weather can't come soon enough.

Mother Nature maybe a little cranky right now, but she sure knows how to make pretty stuff.  Owls can be so beautiful and mysterious and they are of interest for many.  Many of our favorite paper manufacturers incorporate them in their paper collections.  While squiring the web for the perfect color scheme, I came across this photo of handmade owls.  I thought it would the perfect image to inspire you for this month's color spot.

I ask my friend and follow designer, Shirley Mijares Mascarina, to give a go.  I love Shirley's style of scrapbooking.  I love how she uses paint on many of her layouts.  It always adds that extra layer of texture that makes her layout just standout.  Her interpretation for this month's spot is nothing less than FABULOUS!!  Her use of paint to give the effect of watercolor is superb!  It makes her sweet subject seem like she's swinging right over a rainbow!!

What great use of stickers in her title.  Those banners are just the perfect touch.

Here's a closer look at the paint.  Such great details with all those matching hearts and alphas!

I'm totally in love with this layout!  Thank you Shirley for sharing your talent with us!  If you would like to see more of Shirley's projects, make sure you visit her blog.  You can also find her beautiful creations, right here on the LCOM blog every other Saturday on Reveal day!

I hope you were inspired by this month's color spot.  Make sure you share your projects with us by linking them below.  We LOVE to see what you create every month.

Happy scrapping!
