Inspiration Station - Scrapping for a cause!

Good Monday to you all! Aurelie here, to inspire you by being inspired with another instalment of Let's Capture Our Memories' Inspiration Station. This week, inspiration took on a whole new sense for me. Last week, I landed on a Facebook page entitled Danny's Warriors, all about this almost six-year old who, while battling a very aggressive form of brain cancer, wanted to receive tons of birthday cards for his upcoming birthday. Well, needless to say, this really hit home. Not only is my own father coming out of a year and a half of cancer treatments, operations and all that comes with that dreaded c-word, but Danny was turning six two days after my own son, Louis-Olivier, was turning six as well. I instantly knew that the very least I could do was take the time to make a card for a kid who was dealing with stuff that no one should ever have to deal with, let alone a child.

So, off I went into my scrapcave to get some supplies. Picked this week's LCOM card sketch by Isabelle Perreault-Doucette (for more details, click here!), and chose Echo Park's Paper & Glue collection - the 6X6 paper pad was perfect, with a Tim Holtz grungeboard number along with a Bazzill Basics stitching template with a bit of DMC floss. Nothing fancy. Boyish. Fun. Quick. Effective. And voilà:

A birthday card for a very special boy. Happy Birthday, Danny! To learn more of Danny's story, please hop on over to the Danny's Warriors Facebook page right here, or to his journey blog right here. With this in mind, please feel free in scrapping for a cause - may it be to brighten someone's day close or far away. Making someone feel better for a quick second while enjoying this hobby we all love - who could ask for anything more? Really?! ;)

Happy scrapping!
