This layout was so fun to create. I cannot tell you how crazy fun it is to work with Simple Stories stuff, it's overwhelming at the possibilities that are available! (Overwhelmingly good though!!) I enjoy the thickness of the paper, but it's perfect for distressing too. The colors are beautiful, the fonts are fantastic, the feel the line gives out is warm and cheery -- yet if you need to say something striking and important you can and it won't get lost.

Make sure you check the store for great products and great customer service!!!

This month, I was given My Mind's Eye - Funday to work with!! The line is a kraft based product, with some pops of colour too!! It is really perfect for those super bright photos you have on hand that just don't go with other papers out there, like these ones of my son last Halloween:

In addition to the ledger paper, and the black chevron paper, I used the embellishment package - it is full of felt strips, kraft/colour tickets and kraft/colour paper edges. I added in some of the MME Funday chipboard and even some of the Bella Blvd Sophisticates chipboard pieces too!

Check out the Ormolu flair and there is that Cosmo Cricket phrases that Wendy and I have been using :) They are really versatile! I also made really great use of my Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher that the store has available!! It is the perfect little staple and made adhering the embellishments SUPER easy!

Little Lady with Lily Bee Designs!

Happy February! I am so pleased with the collection I got to work with from the LCOM store this month. From the moment I laid eyes on the amazing color scheme in Lily Bee Designs' Head over Heels collection, I knew I just had to work with it.

Here are some details of my layout. First up - I used a Maya Road kraft doily, outlining the little holes with my black pen. Then I added some pop dots on a sticker from the Head over Heels sticker sheet:

The sticker sheet has a lot of great words and images on it. For this close-up, I actually cut the words out of the sticker to use it and not the whole square it comes on:

This collection has a beautiful doily pattern in one of the sheets. I couldn't help but cut some out to use as embellishments on my page. So easy and inexpesive! I used a brad in the centre, along with some ink and voila!

There is also a fabulous 12 x 12 alpha sticker sheet! There are 8 different colors that match the line perfectly and are the perfect size for journalling or adding little words to your pictures like I did here:

I can't believe it's already February 1st! The winter has just been flying by. Maybe it's because we haven't had very wintery weather, but it's snowing today!!!! I decided to use the super super cute Love Me collection from MME this month. This collection is seriously adorable!

This collection comes with a sheet of die cuts and it has quite a bit on it. How cute is this banner??? I added some trim on top and a little bling!

I cut out some hearts and popped up some of them for dimension.

I finished it up by adding some embellishments! I love pink, it makes me happy!!!

Supplies used: MME Love Me collection and die cuts, thickers, bling, twine, button, butterflies, 3D foam squares.

{Wrapping Up January}

How will you remember January? Did it go by like a blur? Or maybe it dragged on, incredibly slow...however you remember January...I hope you take the time to mark the occasion. (The good and the bad.) Our January was quite full of ups and downs, we accomplished a lot amongst all of the good and bad.

I promised myself that this year I would document all the little things, even more so than I already do. I am a stickler for small details and this project I have endeavored upon is perfect for me. I encourage you to document the everyday things.

January isn't as detailed as I wanted because I had every intention of going week by week or even documenting specific days. I settled on a month page for January....and will stay on top of February. I will try to share these in future posts too. :)

Here's January of my sort of *project-y life* ...I didn't want it to be defined. I wanted it to be free flowing leaving room for things that may need to be documented more than others. Sometimes there are pivotal things that need more thought.

I hope that you enjoy looking at the Morgan's January and it encourages you to do the same. :)

What I love about a product line is when I can use it for multiple themes/subjects and it just works.

The Yearography line by Simple Stories in the LCOM store is perfect for this !!!! This time, I chose to use the Yearography line for a back to school photo of my son! Everythign is so perfect for this occasion:

The diecut sticker sheets, again, are perfect... this time I used a couple from the Fundamentals sticker sheet.. the
longer strips that are just like patterned paper!

They go really great with the papers in the line too... like the Snippets paper I used in small doses... the fun different patterns all mixed on one page are perfect!

This time, I added in some of the Bella Blvd alphas in McIntosh red that are available in the store in a few different colours! I just love the font and they take distressing really well too! These journalling tags from Elle's Studio are a perfect mix with this line too... they work just perfectly together!

I'm back to day with my last January project, featuring Pink Paislee's Snow Day collection!

I decided to do another traditional layout with this line. I can't get enough of the colour scheme here - icy blue, white, deep red, pink, kraft and the smallest touch of orange that just complements the rest of the colors perfectly!

The ephemera pack and the Bitty Blocks alphabet stickers had to be my favourite two embellishments for this line.

Basic Grey's Kissing Booth!

Hi Everyone! I'm not surprised at all to see that Tanya has the LCOM store filled with Basic Grey's latest and greatest collection called "Kissing Booth"!

I couldn't wait to get my hand on this line and start creating! Here is the layout I did. It's about my daughter and her obsession with cheese.....and her recent decision that we should all call her "cream cheese" as a nickname. Crazy kid. :)

Hi Everyone!

Last week I shared a non-traditional layout using Pink Paislee’s Snow Day collection. So it seems only fitting to share a layout I created using the collection in a more traditional way. I can’t get enough of all the great colours and embellishments in the collection!

It's all about having fun

My son plays hockey. He may not be the best player on the team but he is the player with the best attitude on the team. He plays with a big smile on his face all the time. It doesn't matter if they are winning or losing he still has fun. I took this photo a few weeks ago and I was so excited that I caught his smile. I used the Echo Park Winter Park collection and the colors were perfect with the photo!

I used a variety of thickers for the title, I really wanted it to pop out because the message is so important!

I added some dimension with some 3D foam squares.

I don't like to hand journal on my LO's because I don't like my handwriting, I know there are a lot of you scrapbookers who feel the same way. It doesn't mean you can't add journalling to your LO's! I used some mini alpha stickers and my journalling was done!

A lot can be said for a box. It can contain things, it can act as a barrier, it can carry weight, it can send something to someone that will brighten their day....there are so many uses for a box. A box can also hold memories.

My Momma was here with us for Christmas....and we got her some cliche gifts...like gloves. :) (In my defense, she asked for them...)...and of course I saw the potential of something upcycled/altered.

Everything has potential...to be something great. Take a look! :)

Tim Holtz - Canvas!!!!

We received these gorgeous canvas pieces in the store and I asked Chantal Anderson and Emily Thompson to play with one and see what they come up with for you ladies! They sure ROCKED it!!

Tanya asked me if I would do something with Tim Holtz new “Burlap Canvas”. Well I always love a challenge and especially one with Tim Holtz products. For those of you who know me well, you know I will meet him someday!!! Lol

Thanks so much Tanya for the CHALLENGE!!!

So I truly love how this turned out. I distressed the canvas a little to darken it up with Tim Holtz’s new Walnut Distress Stain. I also added some Distress Stain on the grungeboard piece and then added Crackle Accent over it. I love the look of the metal gears with some alcohol inks added to them. And we can’t forget how I always ink the edges of my paper with distress inks from Tim Holtz and also how the edges are distressed with the funky Distress-it All machine. I then started to add my paper and embellishments and Voila!!! I hope you like it as much as I do.

Supplies: Paper (Basic Grey), Cardstock (Tim Holtz & Ranger Distress Collection), Grungeboard (Tim Holtz), Metal Gears (Little Yellow Bicycle).

Here is another take on the same canvas by EMILY THOMPSON!! Gorgeous!!

Hi everyone! Today I decided to use the October Afternoon Farmhouse collection. As soon as I saw the paper with all the old chairs on it I knew I had the perfect photo to use for a LO! The photo was taken at the Acadian Village in Caraquet NB. The chair my daughter is sitting on is likely about 100 years old! If you like the vintage look this collection is for you!

For the trim around my circles I used some lace tape from Love My Tapes. They come in different colors and widths. It is the coolest thing ever! It comes on a roll and it's self adhesive. So easy to use and it adds great dimension to the LO!

I added some pearls to one of the stickers from the collection. Turned out kinda cute didn't it?

Welcome to 2012! Usually with a new year, comes resolutions and changes. In 2012, I've decided to challenge myself more with my scrapbooking and to think outside of my usual box. This is what my first post here for 2012 is all about - stepping out of the box! It can be as major or as minor as you want to be!

This month, I am working with Pink Paislee's Snow Day collection. Of course, this collection works perfectly for all your winter themed and holiday layouts. However, it is so much more versatile than that. I decided to step out of my box and create a layout that has absolutely nothing to do with what the collection was made for. The beautiful color palette of deep red, pink and icy blue matched perfectly with some pictures I had of my daughter, Olivia.

It was so easy to create a non-winter themed layout with this line. All of the sheets are double-sided and often one of the sides is simply a gorgeous pattern that could be used for anything your heart desires!

Here are some close-ups of my layout, featuring the Pink Paislee bitty blocks alpha stickers. There are two different colors in the pack and 680 letters! All for only $3.35. You just can't pass these up:
I used a ton of patterns on my layout. I also used Echo Park's Style Essentials Upscale Collection kit. This kit features your favourite patterns in four trendy colors - black, grey, teal and yellow. I used one of the grey patterns here:

I decided to cut some of the polka dots out of this Pink Paislee sheet. I then punched some hearts in a co-ordinating sheet and added an outline and some bling to each:

Good morning and welcome to 2012!! Here it is the 3rd day of January! And I’m sharing with you, my very FIRST project of 2012! How special is that?

I have some amazing goodies from LCOM to play with this month! Lots of fun stuff from the Crate Paper Peppermint line! YUM!!! It looks good enough to eat!

For this LO I used the paper, chipboard stickers, and diecut border stickers! I have so much more to play with with this collection!

I also used a lazer cutout snowflake from a Canadian Company called Engravit! I actually received a goodies package from them for doing a cover LO challenge for Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine!

I used some of my white Studio Calico Mister Huey to create a snowy background on my paper! And I used my new sewing machine to add some fun stitching!

Well Christmas is over and all my decorations are put away for another year. However, winter is just beginning so bring on the skating, sledding, and snow fun! Echo Park's Winter Park collection is perfect for all those outdoor winter photos! Here's a LO of my son "snowboarding".

This collection has a lot of cute stickers and pattern paper that you can cut out to add to your LO! I also added just a tiny bit of bling to bring out the coldness of the day!

The LCOM Store has these adorable felt snowflakes by Creative Impressions. They added the perfect extra touch to my LO. I layered them and added some bling in the middle!

Well, the Christmas holiday is now over - time to move onto the new year and new projects too!

I wanted to share you with you one last project using Echo Park Holly Jolly! This time, a very non-holiday themed page!

I love the bright colours in the Holly Jolly collection and really, there are lots of fun patterns that are not holiday themed at all - just change up your embellies a bit and there you go!

I added some pink twine from the Twinery in a carefree way around the photo.

In fact, this page was made using the 6x6 paper pad and NOT a full sheet! The 6x6 paper packs are a great way to get a lot of patterns for a little cash!

LCOM has some HERE - all different manufacturers are now making them.. and trust me, they are not just for the card folks out there!

and I even added in some of last year's Echo Park Christmas line - it mixes so well with the new one! love that.

I just love the Cosmo Cricket Tiny Type sentiments that you can pick up at the store. There are several available and add just the right little bit ;)

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas! I'm back today with another LO with the beautiful Season's Greetings collection from Echo Park.

This collection might be one of those where I actually use the whole pack! The vintage colors are sooo beautiful! There are so many elements stickers in this collection! Even the border on the bottom is a sticker! I added some twine, ribbon and dew drops.

Next I used this little tree (yup, another element sticker), I thought he was a little plain so I dressed him up a little with more dew drops.

I finished up the LO by adding a few more stickers, a chipboard piece, maya road pin and more twine!

P.S. There is still a lot of this collection in the store so hurry and go get it before I decide to get it all!

Merry Christmas! I hope that everyone is enjoying the holidays and spending time with those they love during this holiday season.

One of my favourite parts of Christmas is continuing on with traditions my husband and I have started with our children since they were very young. One thing we do every year is choose a new ornament for each of them that is somehow a reflection on their year. We always give it to them while decorating the tree. I love to watch their faces as they unwrap them.

A new favourite of mine this Christmas is Echo Park's Holly Jolly collection! I just adore all of the little embellishments that go along with this collection - it's my favourite part. Everything comes together so easily. I've taken some close-ups of some of my favourite embellishments and stickers from this line.

The tree on the sticker sheet is divine! I added some red and green pearls to it to represent ornaments:

Next up are the brads - who doesn't love pearl brads? The colors are so pretty and they complement so much more than just this collection. You'll find yourself reaching for them often. Another favourite is the little tag also seen here:As soon as I saw the alpha sticker sheet with the little ornaments on it, I was immediately inspired to document our ornaments tradition! There are so many color options for both the ornaments and the alpha letters on this sheet. I decided to use the alpha ornaments and stickers in the same color for each letter. I also added some twine across as well and stapled it into place to mimic ornaments hanging from the tree:
Here's another super cute brad from the same package as the pearl brad above. Also, I cut the swirls from the border sheet of patterned paper in this collection to add some pop of color (and to help focus the eye to the photos). There are so many little treasures within this collection!

Christmas is always over too quickly for my liking, and this year was no exception...I literally hurried up and scrapped this layout to capture the feeling, it was cozy....magical...perfect. I enjoyed each second of the 86,400 of December 25th, 2011.

I am sharing this layout with you, because I know that you are going to begin scrapping those Christmas Past memories :)

Merry Christmas to everyone today! We're actually celebrating Christmas day TODAY!

That's the life of a family with an nurse!! I'm actually working all day tomorrow and Christmas Day...so we decided to have our celebrations today! How fun!

And today you have the privilege of seeing my first LO in about 3-4 weeks! What's funny is that when I went to use my cutter last night....it was DUSTY!! Lol

I guess that's a hint that I need to use it more?? ;o)

Anyway, I created this LO last evening and I used Fancy Pants St Nick paper Fancy Pants St Nick paper and the rubons too! I used some twinery twine too....and, of course, AC Thickers! All of these goodies can be found at the LCOM Shop!

Holiday Projects

Since it is almost Christmas..... and you may have a few minutes on your hands... cause I am sure everyone is done all their shopping, baking, wrapping...etc... right? Well, if youdo have a few creative minutes this week, I thought I would share with you a bunch of holiday projects all made with the Holly Jolly line from Echo Park.

All of the projects can be made in 30 minutes or less and are a great way to use up some of your supplies too! I find that I am forever wanting new and more new seasonal lines - so this year I was determined to use up what I have - so next year, I can go crazy again!

So, here we go - first project up is a few quick gift card envelopes:

Really, all you need to do is take a 4" x 7" strip of Holly Jolly paper and make some quick folds! I stitched around the outside, but you could use some tacky tape, or another strong adhesive too to make the pockets. Embellish with some of the Holly Jolly Stickers or Chipboard shapes - even a journalling card and some bling ! Tie some Twinery baker's twine around the top and you are done!

Next up is a quick little gift jar for candy, etc.:

Take a mason jar, just add ribbon or twine; a sticker and the Maya Road Wood Snowflakes and some bling- fill with some yummy goodies and share !

Time for some quick decorations right? Here is a SUPER quick project that I am sure you have seen on the 'net:

I will be making more of these for next year! My kids even helped ;)

Dust off those punches out and get to work! Punch a bunch of various shapes and papers - stitch together with your trusty sewing machine into a banner and hang! I added a few snowflake and xmas trees to mine too.

Add in a little glitter paper for sparkle too. Love the sparkle. ;)

One last project a little hanging project:

Just fold a few rosette/accordian circles and add a glitter snowflake and some chipboard letters.. hot glue to some tied ribbon and voila!

Hope you are inspired to make a few last minute projects this week as the countdown to Christmas has begun!!

{When My Heart Finds Christmas}

Christmas is so crazy. This year is no exception. Yet, more and more I find myself wanting to step back and embrace small moments and freeze them. I know it doesn't seem old to some, but I am staring down 36 and I turned around to see a 9 year old and a 7 year old...and I just need time to slow down...so I can still hug them and keep them small...it must be some sort of middle age crisis approaching me, because I swear they were 2 and 4 and Mack was staring at me with her big blue eyes and a bink and I was tying her shoes because we were going to go pick up Paddy at the bus stop from Kindergarten....time really does go by too quickly....I used to laugh at adults when they said that, but now I get it.

I really did get to capture them in a picture that portrays them perfectly. My beautiful kiddos, the reason I wake up each day and keep going, just like the song says....."Everything becomes a little clearer, I realize what life is all about..."...and this layout really says it all when I am feeling grumpy or melancholy...they help my heart find Christmas.

Happy Friday!!! Holy cats where did the month go? We're staring down the week of Christmas and of course in my "House of Procastination Insanity"....there's craziness abound...2 class parties to help organize, hunt and gather for, finishing up last minute purchases, Mackenzie has a last minute project due Monday, preparing for my Momma to get here, and then Karl's father and brother, sister-in-law & niece, teacher gifts, Karl's gifts, my Momma's gifts, mailing my Dad and Step Mom's present..the crazy list never ends...and my cards are no exception...I am a full out procrastinator....and I came up with wonderful cards...cute, simple, already had envelopes....and what's the problem with this you ask?

Oh, I came up with them yesterday, bahahahah! And I have about 30 to make....I have made 3. SO in my typical Shannon-ish fashion everyone will get their Christmas cards fairly close to Christmas as they do each year, and smile to themselves and shake their heads and say..."That's our Shannon."....and it's ok...because I literally do it every year...every year I have the intent that I will not be late, that I will not overschedule myself or create lofty goals for myself...and every year I do, and it's ok. Really it is, and if you are suffering this same craziness, then I am right there with you!

I wanted to share with you one of my 2 simple card designs....and I am thankful to say that while I am a procrastinator and have decided that part of my day today will be spent baking...that my cards will go fast because for once I did not try to overcram the card with and kept it simple. :) I know some of you who follow me, just snorted.

Hello blog readers! I'm back today with more of Echo Park's Holly Jolly collection to share! I want to share a layout that I created to celebrate this hectic, holiday season! We get so caught up in all the planning and purchasing. It's nice to take a step back and remember the reason for the season. And it's even nicer when it is a child who reminds of why we celebrate!

My daughter, Olivia, has been making homemade cards for weeks for her friends to celebrate Christmas. She puts the most thoughtful notes inside! (I know the one she gave me is something I will cherish forever.) I knew this special moment needed to be captured on a layout so I set out to do just that.

One of my favourite things to do lately is create banners with my patterened papers. It's so quick and inexpensive - I love the look:

If you haven't picked these up already, you don't know what you are missing! These Tiny Type stickers by Cosmo Cricket are so inexpensive ($1.95!!) and you get TONS of stickers. They are the perfect complement to any layout. Here, I used the Christmas version:

One of my favourite parts of EP's Holly Jolly collection is the Element Stickers. I created this border using the ornaments from that sheet (it literally took seconds to do):

From time to time, I like to get my children to write the journalling on their layout. It's such a great way to capture their childhood. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to have Olivia write the journalling on this layout - having her write on the journal tag fit the theme of my layout so well:

Another favourite embellishment from this line for me is the brads! They obviously match this line but the colours are so versatile - you could use tem for so many more collections from different manufacturers:

Dear Santa

As much as we all love Christmas in my family, both my kids were kinda scared of Santa when they were little. This photo of my son is the best Santa photo I have and he is still not sitting on his lap! I used Echo Park Seasons Greetings for this LO. The whole collection has a beautiful vintage feeling.

The papern paper I choose was busy so I tried to keep it light on the embellishments (can you believe it...no Prima!) I used the alphabet stickers that came with the collection to do the journalling. I matted them all in black!

I added a few chipboard pieces, twine and stickles and my LO was done!

December Daily?

Ok - so, it is already into the first full week of December - but I really did have this book done before December started... have you done one? This is my first year - so I wasn't really sure what we would include or what we would journal, etc.. so I just did a few random things.

This month, I have Echo Park Holly Jolly to play with - my first project is this December daily!

I'll warn ya now... this is a photo heavy post :)

I used an old chipboard album that I had lying around,
and added in a few extras.

I wanted to make the album quick and easy....so I grabbed some red mist and just spritzed over a number mask from a while back! I added some chipboard pieces and some cheap sequins for some sparkle too :)

For the rest of the book, I used the Holly Jolly 6x6 paper pad instead of full sized sheets, the Holly Jolly chipboard, the journalling tags sheet and some twine too. I just love that red colour!!

Here are all the pages of the book - we started with a little journalling already.. left some room for photos, etc...

Santa's Cookies

The time is near...only 18 days until Christmas!!! No need to panic!!! Relax and take some time for yourself, maybe even scrap a little! This week I used BoBunny's Blitzen collection. The mix of reds and blues in this collection are simply gorgeous!

You've probably noticed by now that I have a thing for BoBunny, well I also have a thing for Prima Flowers! I use them on almost every LO. I love the dimension it adds to the LO! I used the BoBunny Blitzen brads for the flower middles to give them a pop of color!

I love the cardstock stickers that came with this collection. This lantern was just sooo cute! I added some stickles and now it looks like it's lighted!

Season of Advent!

This is the season of counting the days until Christmas! And I love doing this as much as any child! Each year I try to find a fun way for my girls to count down to Christmas because it just makes the wait a little easier!

Here's what I made....and I should say that they each helped me with decorating it too!

I bought a wooden Advent calendar last year at Michael's and decided that I would change it up a little to suit my style. (because I'm posting this via my phone all the photos will be at the end of my post)

For this project I used a bunch of items from the LCOM shop!!

- Shabby Chic fall Mini Artisan Numbers

Welcome to December already! Can you believe it? This month usually means we're busier and have so much on the go. Finding time to scrapbook can be difficult but remember to take some time to create and relax.

This month I am working with Echo Park's Holly Jolly Christmas collection. This collection is so gorgeous! I love the vibrant colours and playful element stickers. It's a step away from traditional Christmas colors, but just enough to still fit the bill for holiday themed layouts.

I love using twine to accent my embellishments. This lime colour is perfect for holiday themed layouts! It is available in the LCOM store in a rainbow of colours here. The colour I used on my layout is called Chartreuse:

Do you hand make paper crafts to place in your home for Christmas decorating?

I do…occasionally. And my girls are pretty crafty too! That’s why when they made these Christmas paper trees, I needed to take a picture and scrapbook this layout(I bet you thought I was going to share the trees, right? lol)

You can see in pictures on this page that they were quite excited about their finished product! Their trees are now in each of their rooms as part of their own room Christmas decor!

It's that time of the month...

... yep, the time when I share with you a few cards I made using the scraps and bits of this month's products!

If you remember, I have been playing with the Crate Paper Random Collection all month long...and lovin' it!

Here are a couple cards I made using the collection.

I just love the diecut shapes - this frame is amazing all pop dotted up for dimension!

I love love that huge diecut butterfly, along with a few hits of stickles! I did the same thing on this card with a smaller diecut butterfly:

and the Studio Calico butterfly stickers are great with this line too! I love the kraft colour!

When you are using great products, you can keep it simple. For this card, I just tied some ribbon and a few mini die cut tags:

For the last card, I wanted to take advantage of the gorgeous double sided paper and made a flower for the centre of the card:

It is really easy to make! Just punch some circles out of patterned paper, and fold ..

line them up in a circle and voila!

I am sure the weekend seems like it is never long enough, at least it's like that for me!!!

I spent this weekend trying to organize my scrap room...which of course took sooooooo long because I am a self admitted scrap hoarder....geez!

I started my layout and kept coming back to it when I needed sanity centering!!! :) (added into the mix was helping the kids with their procrastination of school projects...because they take after their Momma!...and various home improvement from the husband...as he needed minor assistance)....coughcoughtryingtostaycalmthroughallofthisdidn'tgoassmoothlyasplannedcoughcough...and I ended up banishing everyone for a few hours.

Anyways...it once again reminded me that I needed to make time management a bigger priority in 2012...and yet it reminded me that even though they all drive me crazy I can't help but smile each time I look at them. :)

Here's my layout...you're probably thinking..."How much more can you cram on there Shannon?"....but I just kept adding and adding until I felt it felt finished, there is no wrong or right way to build your page!! (Remember that when you are not happy with how something is turning out...not saying I experienced that or anything)...thanks for letting me share with you!!

I have said it before - the Random Collection by Crate Paper is amazing.

It really is one of the most versatile product lines I have been fortunate to have used in a long time.

I have been inspired a lot by colour lately, and the mixture of colours in this collection are right up my alley.

Not only are the colours great, but the patterns on the paper itself are gorgeous. And the fact that the papers are double sided is even better.

Can you tell I love patterned paper??? :)

I created this page using as much of the Crate Paper Random patterned paper as I could:

but - I couldn't stop there..
I just had to add some of the Designer cut diecut shapes and Phrase Stickers:

Add in some Basic Grey brads to some diecut or chipboard flowers...and mix in more of those pretty alphas from the alpha sticker sheet:

You really can't go wrong with this collection - and the best part is - you really don't have to add in other things if you don't want to.. the Crate products stand out on their own, but do work well with so many other items!

Happy Wednesday everyone!!! I hope that this Wednesday is treating you well...in the US...it's the day before Thanksgiving...as you probably know..and we are all getting ready to prepare our feasts and gather with family and friends.

....Thanksgiving is my favorite time of the year. It's like a kickoff for good cheer and kindness everywhere. ...luckily I don't have to look far to find that spirit in my house because I have two wonderful kids who carry that holiday spirit pretty much all year long. ...luckier still...Patrick has a great friend named Marcus who is eternally cheerful. My layout features the three of them...caught in their natural state...I tried to capture a *nice* picture of them...but there were none to be had...but looking at it afterwards...I wouldn't want them captured in time any other way...they have spirits that shouldn't be squelched!

With the cool weather and shorter days, there is no doubt that summer has ended and soon, winter will be here!

The people at Fancy Pants Designs made sure that summer and fall have gone out with a bang with their Summer's End collection. It is such a beautiful colour palette and the diverse embellishments available for this line make it so easy to create layouts. I completed this layout in about 45 minutes, which is awesome for me. I usually take a few hours, at the very least!

I cut the leaves on the left out of a piece of the patterned paper called "Crisp". It's such an easy and economical way to spruce up your layouts.

Hello ladies! Since the holiday season is fast approaching, I decided to play with one of Echo Park's newest Christmas lines, "Season's Greetings". This collection is so beautiful with a bit of a retro/vintage feel. It is available in the LCOM store! I was so happy to use it to scrap my little nephew, Thomas!

One of the things that I really appreciate with any Echo Park release is how their collections include so much - from journaling cards to stickers to assorted alphas. LO's just seem to almost put themselves together because there is just so much to choose from.

I used Sketch #67 from the LCTS blog. Here it is!

It's no secret that I love BoBunny. I mean I really really LOVE BoBunny. Their new Snowfall Collection is so beautiful, you could just frame the papers without doing anything else to them!!!

I fussy cut this snowflake from a piece of pattern paper, I then matted it with black (as I always do), sprayed it with mist and added a Tim Holtz button!!!

These Creative Impressions snowflakes were perfect for my LO! I stuck them to the paper and added a little bling!

I finished my LO by adding some random dew drops on the page to add a little dimension.

What They Don't See...

I thought I'd continue the Crate Paper love today and share another love of mine - misting! Have you tried it yet? There are so many possibilities. I'll be the first to admit that I can be a lazy scrapper. I want great results but without a whole lot of work. Misting my layouts in various ways achieves that for me!

You can see a couple of misting techniques that I've used on this layout:

To create the canvas tag, I placed a chipboard heart on the tag to use it like a stencil. Then I misted until the tag and chipboard was entirely saturated. I let it dry for a few minutes before removing the chipboard. (If you look at the layout above, you'll see that I used that same chipboard heart as an embellishment on another part of my page):

The best part about misting is the messier the better! You can't go wrong. I also love that you can easily use mist to alter the colour of an element to match your layout, like I did above.

I also love to spray my background paper with mist to "dirty it up" a bit. You can use as little or as much as you like. To avoid getting mist everywhere, I like to use a pizza box. I place my paper inside and spray as I like. You can see the pink mist on my background paper in this close-up:

Hi Everyone! I’m back with another Fall layout that showcases one of my favourite lines ever – Crate Paper’s Farmhouse. The colours are so rich and beautiful. I just can’t get enough of this collection. And even better – most of it is available in the LCOM store!

I wanted to use as many papers as possible on this layout – I just love them all. I love to layer paper so this was the perfect line to do it with. I also love all the different embellishments that come with this line – from letter stickers to borders, chipboard to buttons, sew brads to stand outs …..it’s a great collection to use if you are crunched for time. Your layout will fall into place in no time!

Hi again! Nicole here with another Random share with more Crate Paper from the

Let's Capture Our Memories store!

I just love the denim paper in the collection pack - and the built in texture it has!

Another one of my faves is the floral paper in the collection. Now, normally, I wouldn't be saying this.. but the flowers are perfect for cutting out and layering !! and the paper makes it so easy for embellishing too.. I added some stickles to a flower or two to make them shine :)

I just love how the paper co-ordinates with the diecut stickers and chipboard pieces. I love that the diecut sheet and the chipboard sheet are the same images... and perfect for layering thickness on and under other items on your page like this frame and different florals:

I used a bunch of little pieces from different papers, and they go so well together - or even on their own!

Another fave for me is the diecut alpha sheet - I love that you get both a larger and three smaller fonts all on one sheet! They go really well with the chipboard letters in the chipboard set.

Hello ladies! Today I have a LO to share using some of the new Glitz Design "Vintage Blue" collection, available in the LCOM store. I love the mix of golds and blues in this collection, not to mention the vintage vibe! A perfect collection to scrap this photograph of my parents celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary.

I love it when papers come with that already misted and splattered look. Perfect for anyone who is shy to use these art mediums - like me. ;) The "paper layers" were perfect for matting my photo and making embellishments.

My title is made from cutting one of the "cardstock stickers" in half. I love the versatility of stickers.

My LO is based on LCTS Sketch #91. Yes - I love sketches!! Here it is.

I'm back today with my second LO as a member of this amazing marketing team! I've been blow away this past week by the amazing LO's posted on this blog! I couldn't wait to post this LO because I love my GLITZ! I used the Vintage Blue Collection on my LO, but make sure you check the other collections as well in the LCOM Store, they are all so beautiful!

The Lcom Store has a wide variety of Crafter's Workshop Templates. On this LO I used the mini brocade template. Just add a little glimmer mist or paint and you have an instant WOW to your paper!

And of course, I had to finish my LO by using my adored Prima Flowers!!!

Happy Tuesday! I'm very excited to be sharing my first LCOM Marketing Team layout with you all! It was super hard to choose items to work with from the store. Have you been there lately?? So many amazing new goodies have come in: Pink Paislee Snow Day, Echo Park Times & Seasons....new Tim Holtz products! You can always count on the latest and greatest scrapping supplies to show up quickly at LCOM.

Today I'd like to share a layout I created using Studio Calico's Autumn Press collection. I love the mix of blue, light green, brown, pinks, cream and burnt orange. I was very inspired by this sheet of paper called "Bundle":

I love to fussy cut designs from patterned paper. Not only does it provide dimension to your layout, but it's an inexpensive way to embellish your page! One sheet goes a long way and the possibilites are endless. Here are a few close-ups of the leaves. I cut each out indivdually and arranged them on my layout to mimic leaves soaring in the wind. I then inked them all and adhered them to my layout when I was happy with the design:

When I was done with the leaves, I randomly added pearls in co-ordinating colours to spruce them up a bit:

Giggles and Grins!

Good Thursday morning my scrapping friends! Welcome to my very first posting as LCOM Marketing Team member! I am over-the-moon excited to be a part of this team and I am equally excited to share my layout with you today! I was totally inspired by Michelle's post yesterday I hope my post will inspire you today too!

This month I choose the AWESOME Studio Calico products to play with! When I first heard about this company I originally thought, ‘hmmm..they put together amazing kits!’. But I soon came to learn that SC also creates so many fun, creative products as well – from paper, to mists, to diecuts…and so much more! Recently they have started partnering up with other companies too to create so much more fabulous product for us to add to our scrappy stash!

And…did you know that LCOM carries SO MUCH Studio Calico goodies at such a great price as well! So this is the reason I picked these products this month to play with! (Plus a few extra little things)

I created THIS layout using a picture of my younger daughter! Although, there are times when she is not so happy, she is often so full of giggles and grins and I wanted to capture this trait of her with this LO.

The Glory of Autumn

Hi everyone, I'm so excited to be posting my first LO for the LCOM marketing team! This week I decided so use the beautiful BoBunny collection Forever Fall. The deep colors in this collection are just stunning!

As you can see, I matted everything in black (even the maple leaf). I thought it made the colors pop out more.

The Prima leaves I used matched perfectly with this collection.

Hi!! I'm Jennifer and I live in Alberta, Canada. I have been married for 28 years and have two grown daughters. I am now "mother" to my two little pups, Gus and Maggie. They are often the subject of my LO's, as they never complain about having their photograph taken. ;)

I have been scrapping for 10 years now. It amazes me to think of how it has evolved into what it is today. I love to hand stitch on my LO's and have a weakness for buttons, brads and tags. I have been known to stalk the ladies at my LSS when waiting for the arrival of a new paper line. Yes, I am just a little bit obsessed with this scrappy life of ours!! Patterned paper just makes me smile!! :)

My favourite photography subjects are animals and nature. I long to become a better photographer and eventually master some photo editing techniques. When I am not scrapping, I enjoy reading, knitting, bird watching and just spending time with my family.

Hello ladies! I am so excited to be guest designing this month! Today I have a LO to share using the Jillibean Soup collection, "Sweet and Sour Soup". I love everything about this fun and vibrant line. It was perfect for scrapping the cutest Chihuahua ever - Bolt! Such a sweet girl.

I love to layer on my LO's, so the peapods diecuts and cardstock stickers were amazing to use for this.

I'm a huge fan of sketches and so for this creation I used LCTS Sketch #84.
Here it is.

I just wanted to share this quick page I made with some misting masks and stencils available in the shop right now!

I started off with the Crafter's Workshop stencil and lightly spritzed the page.. once dry I added a second misted layer with the Pink Paislee mask. I wanted to use gesso with the Pink Paislee mask, but *sigh* I don't have any.. so I used some white paint and then once it dried, I spritzed some glimmer mist over it to have it show up more!

To finish off the page I added a few scraps of paper, punched out some shapes and added it around the edge of the cardstock.. the October Afternoon alphas are fun and in such great colours .. I love the multi colour look on the title!

Hi Everyone... I'm back with my last post using Bo Bunny's Garden Girl Line. I love this picture of my daughter and friends. One of my friends had a tea party at the end of last summer and all of the girls, big and little, in the neighborhood came to have fun! It was too cute.

I added some of the rub-ons from the Garden Girl collection and I colored the Petaloo Crocheted flowers with some Glimmer Mists.
I cut the title piece from the Cut-outs paper in the collection pack.. it was a perfect fit!

Since this is my last post as part of the MT, I just want to say that I've really enjoyed being part of the LCOM Marketing team and I really would like to thank Tanya and Kristine for having me. I've met many lovely and kind ladies here and plan on sticking around to be inspired by the new MT!

Ah, I can't believe this is my last post here at LCOM! It's a little sad, but there's a new crop of amazingly talented ladies to inspire you. So make sure you stay tuned!

When I was creating my mini album I fell in love with all of the embellishments in the Boarding Pass collection, so I decided to create a layout and focus on the embellies. And, as a side note, I was going through the Miscellany pack (which has a lot of fun pieces) and there was a little tag that said Calgary on it. I thought it was fun because the only other places mentioned were London and Europe, so having my home town took me by surprise. I didn't encorporate it on the layout because the photos are from Vegas!

The layout was inspired by a fabulous sketch by Creative Scrappers.

It's that time of the month again.. where I show you a few simple cards made with the products I received from LCOM!!

Pink Paislee Mistables!

I really kept it pretty simple with the mistables this time. I used a little red ink around the outer edge of the paper on this card, and attached another flower from the trim. I added some of the Bazzill Tulle that I picked up a few months ago - used it like a ribbon and tied off a bow, and topped it off with the homemade canvas flower!

I used the Pink Paislee Mistable Mask to create the background for the sentiment on the second card.

I actually misted the ruffle trim with mist and added some buttons and a flower on top too. A few little pearls on the misted pattern adds a lovely touch!

The masked pattern goes well with the misted mistable paper.. the bottom was rubbed with olive ink and misted with a little suede glimmer mist too!

Bo Bunny Garden Girl Canvas

Quite a few of my friends have been bitten by the She-Art bug. I adore these fun canvases, but swore I would not pick up another crafty hobby. Well, as they say, never say never..... My friend was teaching a canvas class recently and I love her work, so I signed up. It is SO MUCH FUN! I decided that the Bo Bunny Garden Girl Line would be perfect for a canvas. Here's my twist on the She-Art Movement... maybe we should call it Meow Art???

I cut the butterfly directly from the Garden Girl paper.

I love the colors in this line and thought they were perfect for a bright flower garden. Some of my flowers were pieced using the different patterns, others were cut directly from the designs on the papers.

I'll be back at the end of the month with one more project using Garden Girl.

Our family loves to travel so I'm always after the next best travel paper collection. October Afternoon’s Boarding Pass seriously has it all! When I fist saw the papers with the maps (yes, there are 2 in the collection!), the cartographer in me was all over it! And, I was totally drooling over the chipboard film strip. It was the perfect way to showcase a bunch of photos that normally wouldn't have made it on to a page.

Now, go and dig out your vacation photos, and get scrappin'!

It's Krissy with a couple of cute Halloween Cards made with the Fancy Pants Oct. 31st Collection. I love sending out handmade cards, and this collection has everything you could need to make them!

Isn't that Love Potion label on the card wonderful? It's a rub-on that I simply put on a piece of black cardstock. The witchy hat was fussy-cut from one of the papers, and then I simply added a button and glitter glue to dress it up a little.

I had a lot of fun making this second card, too! The little poem was cut from one of the journaling tags. I placed it on top of a frame that was included with the Glitter Cuts and then added layers around it with the haunted sticker (mounted on pop dots), a Prima Flourish, and a few blingy stars. So easy and yet so cute!

I'll be back one more time showing you how this wonderful collection can be used to make some fun Halloween altered art! In the meantime, check out all the wonderful goodies in the LCOM STORE!

Hi again! I am going to share with you the last few frames from my frame set project I shared with you the other day using Pink Paislee Mistables!

Along with the "home" frame, I made a frame for each of my three kidlets for the four frame grouping.

I wanted to use a different pattern from the collection pack for each frame, and different colours too.

The home frame was the one that tied all the different colours and patterns together - remember that heart I made? It had all the different patterns on it that I used in each of these frames, in each of the colours to draw the project together.

Anyways.. here are the the kids!

For this first page, I spritzed some Electric Blue mist on the centre of the page, and then rubbed Oil Slick around the edges to create a darker look.

I added a Crate Paper button, that I distressed with some Staz On Ink.. I punched out some stars in a different Mistable paper and misted it with Indian Corn (that red is my fave!)

This page was misted with Olive Green mist and a little glimmer glaze added to the very edge.

I rubbed it in good to blend lightly.

I lifted the idea of sewing the buttons into the pattern from the Pink Paislee team.. it is a great look!

A few stamped stars finishes this one off. Love the yellow stars done with ink just near the edges of the star shapes.

This last page was all done with that gorgeous Indian Corn colour. It is darker around the edges from more and more mist.. and really light throughout the middle of the page.

I used the scallop edged trim to make the canvas flowers by sewing the thread through a gathering it in the center.. top it off with a pretty button and you are good to go! I really love the natural colour of the canvas trims and flowers..just because it is mistable.. doesn't mean you have to :)

I hope you have enjoyed this project as much as I have presenting it to you. I hope you will try something like this in your home and share it with us on the forum and gallery!

Travel Mini Album

I’m heading to Vegas soon and I thought it’d be great to make a mini album to take on my trip! Then I can document things as they happen! And, this month I’m working with the perfect collection for this – October Afternoon’s Boarding Pass. Let me tell you – this line is so much fun! I love the little men on the stickers and chipboard shapes and everything about this has the perfect amount of vintage (but definitely is not over the top). And, the primary colors go with everything!

I painted the front and back black to give it more of a camera look. I also haven't add " Las Vegas" to the title yet just in case something happens and I end up without photos (wouldn't be the first time!).

Now I can't wait for the trip and to add the photos!
