Capturin' Our Sketch #6 and Leaves Card Challenge

Here's the sketch this week by Sandi.  Tanya L would like you to add some leaves to your card for a little extra added challenge.  In the eastern United States, we are enjoying the season of fall.  The weather is getting a little bit chillier and the beautiful leaves are changing colors. Even though it is getting colder, it always is my favorite time of year.  A time of harvest and abundance of color and life.  The hustling and bustling of hay rides and pumpkin carving, raking leaves and jumping into the piles and the corn mazes.  Hope you are having a wonderful fun filled fall!

Here's what Team B has for you this week!

Don't you just love the metal elements she added to her card?!

Only a piece of cardstock and ribbon, but so much dimension with paint and stamps.  You can get the mossy mist smooch at the LCOM store

Dani used Antique Linen Distressed Stickles and ripped her paper to create the look on her celery paper.  What a beautiful fall card!

Sandi used the new basic grey pyrus scrapbooking paper, but if you would like to make some cards with the pyrus kit, you can purchase it here at LCOM.
And let's welcome back our Guest Designer for this week ....

Hi! I'm Stacy Koo, residing in Singapore, a tiny red dot in Asia. I work as a Biomedical Regional Engineer and because it is such a physically demanding job, I decided I need to find the other gentle side of me. :)

My scrapbooking interest started 3 years ago after attending a SB class with a colleague. And I haven't look back since then. I do not think that I have a style that I stick to, because I love to experiment with new colors and techniques, but I'd say that I can't do without the color brown! I also love to knit, crochet and sew - these are probably the genes I've inherited from my mom. :) Recently, I've been experimenting with paper quilting and wire - they look great on cards and layouts! This amazing hobby has taken me in directions I could only have imagined. I have met some amazing friends and I look forward to all the possibilities to come.  Do drop by my blog and say hi! :) Thanks LCOM for the great inspirations and sketches! :)

Here is her card!

Stacy is getting us ready for the holiday season! Love the lace and the holly and berries!
Speaking of Christmas cards...on your mark...get ready...on November 5, 6, and 7 the Card Team is having a Christmas Card Crop...Get SET.  Hope you will join us on our blogs and in the LCOM forum for lots of inspiration and prizes to get you in the holiday spirit and on your way to making your own homemade Christmas cards.

Hope you've enjoyed the DT members takes on the sketch. Now it's your turn. What is your take? Let's see what you do with it and some leaves! Post your card link to Mr. Linky by Saturday, October 23rd at 8PM EST for a chance to be our next GDT for the week of October 31st and 15% off your next LCOM order. Can't wait to see your cards!!!

Wednesday WOW's!

Have you been missing them in the forum? There have been some great ones posted in the forum the past few weeks.  Just today Anita posted how to make this cute little bag.
Last week Tanya L posted on how to make a bloodshot eyeball with a sharpie marker and alcohol.

Rusha showed us how to make a background with baby wipes and foodcoloring.

Sandy showed us how to do the stab binding technique.

You can find all the tutorials here.  I know how much I love to learn new things and get new ideas.  It's great because these are step by step directions.  If you are not a member of the forum, it's easy to sign up and it's FREE.  And a little birdie told me that we are having an online crop this weekend, so you won't want to miss all the challenges, prizes and fun! Don't forget about the card challenge this week(scroll down).  It ends on Saturday.  And Ally's sketch on the sketch blog is just amazing!

Woot Woot!!

We have a new DT Member!!! Please join me in welcoming Susan Coish!!

I am 30 something! I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 11 years and we have 2 beautiful little girls. Emilee, my 10 year old, is all about fashion and glitz; while Sara, my almost 9 year old, likes to show her fiesty side a little too often! We live in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. I am currently working fulltime as a Neonatal Registered Nurse, at our local hospital.

I have been scrapbooking for over 6 years. I was initially inspired by my older sister. Scrapping to me is a stress reliever, throughout the day, as well as a source of real enjoyment and fulfillment. I am inspired so much by a variety of challenges, colors, patterns, photos, etc..and these inspirations cause me to create many different types of pages. I have been published a number of times and love to share my work with everyone!

My layouts almost all start with a cardstock base. I then begin layering pattern papers, and clustering embellishments. Most times, my photos are off centered, as are the other elements. At times, when I feel a little more straight lined, all the elements will be more centered and even on the page. Most all my layouts have a touch of my hand drawn doodling, some misting, a lot of distressing and some stitching!

I have been a member of this awesome place since October of last year, and I am delighted and honoured to have this opportunity to inspire each of you, and to be inspiring for all of you!

Sketch #5 and Sewing

This week our sketch is brought to you by Sandy Ang and she decided to add the challenge of sewing to your card.

And here's what Team A did with it.

Isn't it amazing at how great this looks with just some sewing?! and the text.

Look at that sweet little girl carrying the Christmas tree! Love the swirl stitching up the side.

Here's another great Christmas image.  Look at that faux sewing around the greeting.  She did a great job!

Isn't this beautiful? The prima flower matches the pattern paper almost perfectly.  And that stitching is perfectly placed.

And our Guest Designer for this week is....

Hi!! I am IRIT from sunny ISRAEL. In my "real life" I am a dentist for more than 25 years, but for last 3 years I do it as a part time job because I need some extra time to run my Israeli online scrap shop and I have a lot of fun doing something else after 25 years of teeth. I have been married for 28 years to a retired high police officer and the full time family cook these days. I am a mom to 4 grown ups: 2 sons and twin daughters and the empty nest is probably the main reason for my obsession for crafting - finally I have some time for myself. My oldest son is a high army officer and recently married. The second one is " a world traveler" - for last 4 years after his army service he is out of Israel for at least 9 months a year. This year he lives in Spain and works there. My twins are in their second year of college and my scrapbooking inspiration. I need to say that I have been totally addicted to crafting since I was a little girl. For many years it was polymer clay and jewelry making, but after I've seen scrapbook LO for the first time in my life (only 5 years ago during my visit to USA) I understood finally that I am in love with paper. Today I mostly scrap and do altered art and less a card making, but I love it all and hope you like my card. I am a real challenge blogs frick, made about 10 DT on challenge blogs last year and lots of GDT too. Today I design for UK chipboard company named Tando creative and flower inspired challenge blog named Pocket full of posies and I am on Scrapbooking News and Reviews designing staff. I was published in print in Israel several times and was published in every possible web magazine during the last year.

Finally my other addiction is..... folk dancing. So if I am not in my crafting room- I am probably dancing
If you want to see a bit of my work you can visit my blog.

Here is her beautiful card!
She made it for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  It is just amazingly beautiful! Thanks so much for joining us this week at LCOM!

So, are you ready for the SURPRISE!!!!

We have a SURPRISE Guest Designer this week.... and here she is...

Hi, my name is Darlene D'Eon. I live on Canada's east coast in Nova Scotia. I've been married to my honey for 26 years and we have two grown children and one daughter-in-law. I've been scrapbooking and cardmaking for 6 years. Paper crafting is a very personal craft for me, for years I've helped supplement the family income with quilting and have enjoyed it very much, but have kept almost none of my work for myself and family. With scrapbooking and cardmaking, it's all about us, making treasures for our family to preserve. Thanks for this opportunity to share my cardmaking with you all!!!

Here is her sassy sweet card!
What a great fall card! I love the flower and the little squares in the left hand corner! Thanks so much for joining in on the fun with the Card Team this week!

Hope you've enjoyed the DT members takes on the sketch. Now it's your turn. What is your take? Let's see what you do with it and some sewing! Post your card link to Mr. Linky by Saturday, October 16th at 8PM EST for a chance to be our next GDT for the week of October 24th and 15% off your next LCOM order. Sketch #4 and Bling Card Challenge

Here's Sketch #4, which was made by Rusha and the added extra challenge is to add some bling to your card!!! You can do it!
And here's what Team B did with the sketch and the challenge!

Look at that bling! The image of the nest is just beautiful with the paper glaze.  She also used mossy mist smooch.  You can get it at the LCOM store.

She's getting us in the Halloween mood.  And don't you just love that bling for the cat's eyes!

What a beautiful card! Don't you just love the 3D effects she used on the rose.

Love these fall colors with the blinged up clouds and how the leaf looks like it pops out of the card!

And our Guest Designer for this week is....

HI! My name is Calie Romero. I married my high school sweetheart, and we have two wonderful boys. I started scrapbooking when my youngest son was born. He was born very early and was in the NICU for almost two months. A group at the hospital would set up tables for the parents to scrapbook while we could not enter the NICU, and after my first time I was addicted. I then saw some beatuiful cards on blogs I visited and started to create cards too! I love spending my nights coloring and creating! Thanks so much to LCOM for amazing inspiration!

Wowsers! Her coloring is absolutely phenomenal! Love the colors she put together and all the flowers with the bling! Great job Calie! So glad you could join us this week as Guest Designer!!!!

Hope you've enjoyed the DT members takes on the sketch. Now it's your turn. What is your take? Let's see what you do with it and some bling! Post your card link to Mr. Linky by Saturday, October 9th at 8PM EST for a chance to be our next GDT for the week of October 17th and 15% off your next LCOM order. Can't wait to see your cards!!!
