Capturin' Our Sketch #3 and Using 3 Pattern Papers Challenge
Here's the sketch this week.
Besides using the sketch the twist is to use 3 pattern papers on your card.
Here's what Team A of the Card Team came up with!
Isn't this paper just adorable? I love how she added texture to her trees.
This is just like amazing! I love how she made a basket out of the card and then she made homemade flowers! It just adds so much texture to her card!
Don't you just love this great trick or treat card? I love how she put the purple bling in among the diamondy bling!
I love the rich colors in this card. Stars have congrats written all over it!
Introducing our Guest Designer for this week...
Hi! I'm Stacy Koo, residing in Singapore, a tiny red dot in Asia. I work as a Biomedical Regional Engineer and because it is such a physically demanding job, I decided I need to find the other gentle side of me. :)
My scrapbooking interest started 3 years ago after attending a SB class with a colleague. And I haven't look back since then. I do not think that I have a style that I stick to, because I love to experiment with new colors and techniques, but I'd say that I can't do without the color brown! I also love to knit, crochet and sew - these are probably the genes I've inherited from my mom. :) Recently, I've been experimenting with paper quilting and wire - they look great on cards and layouts!
This amazing hobby has taken me in directions I could only have imagined. I have met some amazing friends and I look forward to all the possibilities to come.
Do drop by my blog and say hi! :)
Thanks LCOM for the great inspirations and sketches! :)
Look at the quilling and the wire she used on this card. So cool! We're so glad Stacy joined us this week as a Guest Designer here at LCOM!
Hope you've enjoyed the DT members takes on the sketch. Now it's your turn. What is your take? Let's see what you do with it and pattern papers! Post your card link to Mr. Linky by Saturday, October 2at 8PM EST for a chance to be our next GDT for the week of October 10th and 15% off your next LCOM order. Can't wait to see your cards!!!

Capturin A Sketch #2 and Ribbon Card Challenge
Another week to challenge you! Rusha has again come up with a great sketch for us to complete! We decided that our added twist with this sketch would be to use at least 2 different ribbons.
Hello, I’m Jane Hewitt, I’m a Primary school teacher and I live in Scotland with my husband and 5 delinquent cats. I love all kinds of crafts including scrapbooking, card making, altered art, drawing, painting, cross-stitch sewing, patchwork, feltmaking, cake decorating and oh the list is endless! I also love to swim and play the saxophone (though not at the same time!). I have been card making for as long as I remember and even as a little girl my mum and I would make our own Christmas cards. I am a designer for A Trip Down Memory Lane in UK and teach classes at my crop here in Scotland.
Here is what Team B did with the Sketch and some ribbon!!!
Look at that Sass Lass goodness! Love the pink and black colors with the polka dots so bright and cheery!
Love the metal pumpin added to the ribbon! She is getting ready for fall!:)
Isn't it cool how she took her ribbons around her card?! She is getting festive with her fall card too!
The pearls that were added to this card just add so much dimension! Guess what??? You would make me smile if you participate in this challenge!!!!:)
And our Guest Designer is no stranger! Welcoming Back...
Don't you just love the metal pieces on her card? Look how she used the ribbon!
Thanks so much for joining us again Jane!!!
Hope you've enjoyed the DT members takes on the sketch. Now it's your turn. What is your take? Let's see what you do with it and some ribbon! I have been scrapbooking for almost 2 years. I came into this addictive craft from a dear friend from work while I was pregnant...and well, she got me hooked. I love everything about the craft, from the papers, embellishments, glue...actually I love the smells too, I like to just go into my scrappy room and take a big sniff...LOL I know you all do it!!
As for a style, I don’t think I have quite found one, I do my own thing most of the time, and I do love sketches, I find them to be so motivating! Well, If you want to see some of my work, you can see some on my(which is in desperate need of updating)blog.
And here's her card!
Those brads are so what a queen would wear! Love her take on the sketch!!

Introducing our Fall DT! Last but certainly not least..
Please help me welcome EmilySue!

Hi my name is Emily Thompson, I live in Quispamsis, NB with my hubby Keith and my 'baby' King - my beautiful Golden Retriever. I work as an Early Childhood Educator, and I get to play with babies everyday, as well as guide other educators! Great gig!
I started scrapbooking a few years back when I was in University, and got more into it when I became serious with Keith, and wanted to preserve our memories together! I look forward to my future family looking back on my work and life, and knowing just that little bit more about me.
I think I would describe my style as eclectic and grungy with a bit of vintage and every once in a awhile some clean lines and white space too..anything goes for me! Especially if it has anything to do with Tim Holtz!
This is my first time on a DT, and I am really looking forward to it! Can't wait to get some great kits, and work with some great gals!

When I am not scrapping you can find me creating in the dance studio or just there dancing my heart out!
I was published for the first time in the May/June issue of Simple Scrapbooks, which was also their last issue! I am going to miss this magazine very much as it is one of my favorites!
I love the creative outlet scrapbooking gives me and the appreciation I receive from friends and family when I give them a homemade gift. I am very excited to be a part of the LCOM design team and am honored to be a part of the team!

Meet the NEW Card Team and School Themed Challenge
Welcoming Back.... RUSHA BORDEN
I am a stay at home mom to 2 exciting little boys who fill my life with joy. My husband is a wonderful man who loves me and supports me in this craft, even purchasing supplies for me here and there just because. I started paper crafting when my oldest boy was born, so I could scrapbook his precious baby moments. I was pleasantly surprised it did not result in former fiascos from my elementary school days such as lopsided pottery (which my dear, sweet father still has displayed in his home office) and unrecognizable stained glass. Two years ago I discovered card making when I decided to make my pastor's wife a card of encouragement. I enjoyed it so much, I knew it was something I would continue to do for many years. I love to create anything paper because it whisks me away from my reality and takes me to my happy place where I can creatively express myself while recharging my batteries for motherhood moments where I might need a little grace. It has also boosted my crafty confidence, I might just try pottery and stained glass yet! If you want to see more of my work, stop on my blog .
Rusha's favorite teacher was her fifth grade teacher, Mr. Strikwerda. She has fond memories of him because it was her first year in a new school and he was so nice to her when her classmates were not! Look at that wise owl standing on those books! I love how Rusha put the "green diamonds" inside her prima flowers and the greeting goes just perfect with the image!
Welcoming Back ...DANI CASELLO
I am 26 years old, I have been married for almost 5 years, to my husband John and we have 2 boxer doggies, Chewie &Stella. I work full time as a hairstylist in a spa just outside of the Twin Cities in MN. When I am not working I enjoy reading, baking and spending time with my family. If I am not doing those things you can find me in my craft room! You can see more of my work on my blog,
Don't you just love Dani's basket of apples and the choice of pattern papers she used. Looks great with the thread she wrapped around the cardstock.
Welcoming Back...ANITA MULCAHEY
I am married to the love of my life and have been for 25 years. I live in MA. We have two children a freshman in college and a junior in high school. I work part-time from home and have a lot of free time to paper craft. Although I do scrapbooking and altering of items, making cards is my first love. You can see more of my work at my blog.
Anita's favorite teacher was her French IV teacher. She had her in senior year of high school. She really made the subject come alive. I love the country feel of Anita's shaped card and look she even decorated her envelope!!!
Wecoming Back... SANDI JOHNSON
Sandi's favorite teacher was her third grade teacher, Mrs. Bender. She made learning fun. She can remember so many things about 3rd grade. I just love how she embossed her background, added the ribbon and used the felt. I see lots of texture on this card.
MEET DANIELLE RYERSON
My name is Danielle. I live in Connecticut. I'm 28 and a stay at home mom. My two children are school aged which leaves me a lot of time for scrapbooking. Creativity for me is in my DNA, I loved crafts since I was 5. I joined a weekly kids craft club and have been hooked ever since! I'm a avid team member, I like to get to know other members and help in anyway I can. Currently I am on the design team for Momenta. You can see more of my work at my blogDanielle's favorite teacher was Ms. Day, her1st grade teacher. She really stood out throughout her childhood because she took the time to make learning fun and just taught in a special way that Danielle thinks only a dedicated teacher can. Don't you just love the design of her card? So simple, yet very pleasing to the eye!!!
MEET SANDY ANG
Single, just turned 40 this year and based in sunny Singapore. I love cardmaking, paper construction and crafting altered objects. I'm not working and spend about 3 hours daily on this great hobby (mainly for challenges). Designer since Jan 2010 for Singapore manufacturer KCK. You can see more of my work at my blogSandy's favorite teacher was her Mom. She sat with her and her sister until they were 12 years old helping them do homework everyday and reading to them every day. When I look at this card it just shouts vintage shabby chic. I love how she covered a puzzle piece with matching pattern paper to put part of her greeting on.
MEET SUE KITHCART
Hi! I'm SusieQ! I live in upstate New York! I'm the wife of almost 35 years to my high school sweetheart! I am the mother of 3 grown children, 2 boys and 1 girl. I have 4 grandsons and am still waiting for a granddaughter. I am extremely active in my church and feel that without my faith, I am nothing!
I did not start scrapping till my first grandson was 1 month old and that was exactly 9 years ago this month! June 2001! Boy has my scrapping changed since then! I have been told my scrap style is eclectic! I just do what feels right to me! LOL! I am also a decorative painter so both hobbies in the same craft area which can be interesting at times. I love to be inspired by challenges and I love deadlines because they make me get things done that I would otherwise put off! Here's my blog
Susie's favorite teacher was her six grade teacher Mr. Aranato. She moved when she was in 3rd grade at Thanksgiving time just as they were beginning cursive writing and then the new school had already finished it. Until Mr. Aranato no one ever helped her with the correct formation of the cursive letters but they sure wanted to complain! He was also an extremely creative and patient teacher. What a cute back to school card to give to Noah to wish him well!!!
MEET TANYA LAMO
Tanya Lamo is a stay-at-home mom of three beautiful daughters, ages 4, 6 and 8. They are the main focus of her scrapbooking. Tanya started scrapbooking when her first daughter was born and hasn’t stopped. She has been married for 13 years to a wonderful husband, who is the main support for all of her scrapping weaknesses. Tanya’s paper crafting continues to evolve as she is inspired by galleries, and blogs. She is continually amazed by how fabulous this art is and the network of exceptional women who support and encourage, adds another benefit to this hobby.
Aside from scrapbooking, Tanya’s other hobbies include--gardening, singing on the church Praise Team, knitting, floral arranging and traveling. She is looking forward to serving on LCOM’s card team. You can check out Tanya's blog here.
Tanya's favorite teacher was Mr. Shimmel. He taught fifth grade. He had a great sense of humor, so it made learning fun. What an innovative card Tanya made....out of a paper lunch bag. Way...way cool!!
Can you guess what the challenge is for this week? You guessed it! Let's see a Back to School or School themed card. Also in your blog post or when you comment tell us who your favorite teacher was, what grade and why they were your favorite teacher just for some added fun! If you are picked as the Card of the Week, you will be our Guest Designer for the week of September 19th and you get 15% off your next purchase at the LCOM store. We have lots of great things in store for you, so make sure you check back often and see what's going on here!
Winner of Pet Challenge and a Fond Farewell to Some of Our Card Team!
