Inspiration Station - When the title says it all!

Good Monday to you all! Aurelie here with another installment of Let's Capture Our Memories' Inspiration Station - where I show you how I am inspired and what I do with that inspiration. This week, it's all about the story. For those of you who know me, you know how much I value journalling on a layout. At first, like many scrapbookers, I felt that adding handwriting on a layout disfigured it somehow and I avoided it with a passion. But then, one day, a fellow scrapper told us how much she would love to have the smallest piece of her mother's handwriting... well, that sold the deal for me! Ever since, I have journalled on practically every layout I have ever created.

However, there are those particular times that adding journalling just doesn't do the layout justice. When, you may ask? How 'bout when you have a long title? Or even a title in bold alphas? Or on a journalling card? Need an example? Here are a few of my favourites:

Alissa Getson

See another pattern, here? How 'bout that clothesline effect? That's exactly what I went for, for my own design, heavily based on Alissa's layout.

And you see? Be still my beating heart - NO JOURNALLING! But that Jillibean Soup Mini Placemat is perfect!! And it says everything I needed to say. Awesome!! Used tons of Simple Stories' Homespun collection on this one (6X6 patterned paper, 12X12 Simple Basics Kit, Bits & Pieces, and Decorative Brads), but also turned to some punched stars from an old piece of Hambly Screen Prints transparency, Studio Calico star rubons and gold sequin (which, by the way, totally covered a rubbed on fiasco!), Stampin' Up silver foil paper, Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze, a Christy Tomlinson doily rubon, Wilton's doilies, DMC floss with one of my forever faithful Bazzill Basics stitching templates, October Afternoon alphas, and unknown wooden buttons! Buttons that I know nothing of their origin - Go figure! Hee!Hee!

That's it for today! Please join us again on Thursday when Jocelyne will be product'a'shufflin' again!!

Happy scrapping!
