Inspiration Station - Two challenges in one!

Hello, everyone, and welcome to another Let's Capture Our Memories' Inspiration Station - where I try to inspire you by being inspired myself. I must admit, this week, I was a bit pressed for time with the end of the school year and all. That's why I went to one of my favourite spots for inspiration - my Blogger reading list! Every time I find an interesting scrappy blog via different social media sources, I add it on to my list. Most days, I skim through what's new, and during busy weeks like the one I just had, my Blogger reading list was perfect to find a challenge or two to make designing a layout a whole lot less complicated. So what did I create? Here we go!

Now, for starters, gotta be honest, sometimes I also find new blogs through some of your LCOM sketch submissions. One of these was from Lynn Lefebvre (see her submission here). Lo and behold, reading through her blog, I noticed that she was a Challenge YOUrself designer. What did that mean? I was intrigued to say the least, so I clicked on the badge and boom! Found a great challenge site all about getting us to scrap ourselves in our layouts! The current challenge was so perfect for a photo I just, just, just had printed - a photo of myself with my husband, Mathieu. And yes, both blogs are now in my Blogger reading list! ;)

See me in there? Like most of you, I'm usually the one taking the pictures, meaning that I'm more often than not, not in any of the family photos. However, one night, I looked at my husband and said, "Let's take a picture of us together!" And that was way before the "But first, let's take a selfie" phenomenon!! Hee!Hee!

So, I had the picture. Now, I needed a sketch. Lucky for me, as I was browsing through my Facebook newsfeed, I landed on a page called "All Our Challenges Are Here" which had a post that this new sketch, based on artwork by Ali Parris, was up over at Scrap 365:

Well, I thought to myself, I'll hit two birds with one stone and combine both challenges to create an Inspiration Station layout! Woo!Hoo! But wait... that means three birds with one stone, right? Hee!Hee! And, by doing so, Scrap 365 is now the latest addition to my Blogger reading list!! WOO!HOO!

Most of what you see here is from Echo Park's Times & Seasons 2 collection (12X12 patterned papers, 6X6 paper pad and chipboard accents), but I also added an American Crafts tag, a few Kaisercraft pearls, some Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze, a Lily Bee Design ampersand alpha sticker with some old, dollarama-ish typeset rubons, as well as some stitching done with a Bazzill Basics circle template and some DMC floss. And those tiny butterflies? Totally fussy-cut from the 6X6 paper pad. Such a cute effect! Oh! And that title? Isabelle herself cut a bunch of those out using her Silhouette and gave them out in goodie bags at one of LCOM's awesome crops this year. YAHOO! She totally spoils us!!

Please join us again on Thursday when Jocelyne gets a shufflin' again with some scrappy goodies!

Happy scrapping!
