March Color Spot

Good morning to you all!

Can you believe that March is upon us already?  March is good, though.  Why? Because Day Light Savings is just around the corner and that make my family and I VERY happy!  Longer days just makes us happier!!  Longer days also means that warmer weather is coming... soon!! Right?? One can only hope!!

This month's color spot is inspired by St-Patrick's Day.  I Googled St-Patrick's Day hoping to find an image that would inspire me.  Unfortunately,  most images were of rainbows and the famous pot of gold at the end of it, and lots of little leprechauns!  It wasn't really inspiring.  I did know that I wanted a green tone to the spot.  Then I found this image via etsy.com/shop/coutureflower.  I fell in love with it!!  It was exactly what I was looking for!!  The different color greens and those little mustaches!  Hello?!!

I asked my friend and fellow designer, Zoe Nemburt if she would like to have a go at March's Color Spot.  I'm so excited that she accepted!  I love her creations and what she created this time around is just plain GORGEOUS!  I love all the details on her layout, from the layered paper at the top to behind the photo.  The little glassine envelop with sequins is so delicate and is the perfect mat for the badge.  I love how that butterfly seems to float over the page.  Such great layering and detail!!  The colors are fantastic!!

Here's a closer look at all the details.

Thank you, Zoe, for accepting the challenge this month!

I hope you were inspired by March's Color Spot.  I sure am!  Make sure you share your creations with us by linking your projects using the link below.  We always love seeing what you create.

Happy scrapping!

Hi Scrappy friends I have one more layout to share this month with Bo Bunny Etcetera collection.
Have you ever layered your photos? I find it gives some added dimension if you layer pictures, I've seen some scrappers do pretty impressive things by layering photos, You could try layering a colour photo over a black and white photo for an awesome colour POP!
Thanks for stopping by today, don't forget to stop by the store there are new goodies arriving all the time and one of my favourites Maya Road just arrived!!

Happy friday the 13th!!! I can be a little superstitious at times!!! lol Well here I am again with another layout using FANCY PANTS!! It's the Little Things collection, ooohhhhh I just cant get enough of it, I did actually get the whole collection pack but I linked the papers I used individually above so click on the links to go straight to the items I used to create my layout.

For those of you who are familiar with my work you know how much I LOVE layers, and the more the better!!! Sometimes I like to take an extra step and add lace to my layers, which I did here with the bracket shaped background, It's super easy to do, I use a liquid glue and it's very strong too so I only need little, I run a very small bead of glue around the reverse edge of my die cut about 4 inches at a time and then place the lace into postition as I go, Once you get to the end just add a touch of glue to fuse the ends of the lace and your done!!
What I love most about collections like this one, is if your handy with a pair of scissors you can cut out your own embellishments, like with the flower above and the cards below.
I hope you enjoyed my post today, I really really LOVED this collection by Fancy Pants we have alot more from this fabulous company in the store, :)

Hello, Zoe here today to show you a layout I created using Fancy Pants It's the Little things papers and embellies. The collection pack comes with this really cool sheet of flocked transparency, so for a different look I decided to use one of my Crafters Workshop templates to cut it out, it has super large scallops and makes an amazing background, quite tricky to cut transparency, but just take your time try not to handle the flocked surface too much as the flocking may come off a little.

Here are some close ups of my layout, I used some flowers from the store made by Prima the Eminence Collection these are AMAZING, you can spritz them, distress them of just use them just the way they are, I didnt alter thier colour but I did scrunch them up to give them the height and dimension as the Prima Sugar blooms.
On the Birdcage glittered cuts there was a little birdie already but I thought it would be fun to add a Prima Bird Embellishment in his place. :)
Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today, we have alot more inspiration coming this way so check back often, and dont forget to check out the store new items are arriving all the time.

Hello Scrappy friends, Zoe here again today with my third and final project for April using the Gabrielle collection by Bo Bunny, I absolutely cannot believe it's almost MAY!!! YAYY
So I have been seeing lots of layouts with grids, tiles not exactly sure how you would describe it, I love this technique and it does take a little extra time to cut all your papers to the exact same measurements but the final results are always worth it.
I mainly used papers from my scrap pile and cut rectangles, then I shadowed them with white bazzill there is about 1/4 inch difference in size, distressed all the edges and inked them with some wonderful Tim holtz ink, then set them in a random fashion to get my background, if you have a cutting mat with measurement lines on it these work wonders to help you line then up evenly.
After printing my photo I thought maybe I could have gone a little smaller so you would see more of the tiles behind the photo but I went ahead with it as this is probably one of most favourite pictures I have taken of Yasmin and she has grown so much since then so I kept the size.

I hope I have inspired you to try some grids and tile backgrounds, hop over to the store and get stocked up :)

Happy Scrapping. xx

Hi Ladies Zoe here with my second layout using Bo Bunny Gabrielle, I truly love this line, the colours blend together so nicely, anything you do with it would look elegant!!!
I love layers and it's super easy to create this look, the background has 1 12x12 piece 1 12x9 piece and 1 12x8 piece I layered them in complementary tones and then added the strips of punch paper after, if you dont use adhesive all the way to the edges of you paper it's easy to slide a punched strip with a little glue on it.
The Prima innoscence flowers are so pretty just as they are but if your working with a distressed look like Bo Bunny Gabrielle you can use a Distress Ink Applicator to add a little Distress ink, My favourite colour is Frayed Burlap.

I hope you enjoyed my project today!! Now hop off to the Store and check out the new arrivals :)

I have the wonderful opputunity to work with the Gabrielle Collection from Bo Bunny this month. Oh My where do I begin, the muted soft colours are just to die for, the peach, teal, browns and then when that wasnt exciting enough there is newsprint paper and butterflies too!!
Here are some close up shots of my layout, I used a cut out shape and layered it over the doily to add an interesting layer, I'm all about layers when I'm scrapping. I guess you could call me an Onion scrapper!! Lots of layers as long as I dont make you cry! lol
The chipboard butterflies are devine, I could have a gazillion of them and use them every day!! LOVE LOVE.

I hope I have inspired you today, I seriously loved this collection it's just amazing and really I would like to say this layout took me days of painstaking hard work but seriously the collection is so good it pretty much scrapped itself.

Thats all for today I have more Gabrielle projects coming very soon so stay tuned. In the meantime we have a TON of new Winter CHA arrivals in the store go check it out!!!
