Birthday French Toast

Hi Everyone, I'm back with some more My Mind's Eye Hip Hooray -Girl. This has been such a fun line to work with... the colors are so bright and cheery! They coordinated perfectly with this picture of my daughter enjoying the Cinnamon Swirl French Toast I made for her birthday breakfast last year!
I had fun with clustering embellies again... it's a new favorite thing of mine...I painted some Jillibean corrugated shapes and also created a flower using a Gluber and some Maya Road pleated ribbon. I just fell in love with that owl!

I also spritzed the background paper with some Glimmer Mist for texture. A few buttons and some twine from the Twinery and voila!

I'll be back at the very end of the month with one more project using Hip Hooray. In the meantime, make sure to stop by the store at LCOM... new goodies are coming in every day from CHA!!

Just Chillin'

Hi Everyone,
I'm back with my final layout using Fancy Pants Beach Babe Line. I've had so much fun with this great collection! The colors are so bright and cheery and are perfect for your summer and vacation layouts! This picture is from my family's trip the the Florida Keys last April. My daughter was so happy to just sit by the pool, relax, read and listen to her iPod!!

I misted some Maya Road zipper trim and spiraled it around on a Gluber to create my big flower.

I didn't have any alpha's I felt coordinated with my colors, so I painted some chipboard letters using an Adirondack Paint dauber. Paint daubers are a perfect way to customize chipboard!

Glubers!

Hi Everyone, I'm back with a quick post to introduce one of the most fun new products out there... Glubers!! Ok, so if you're thinking what in the world is a Gluber, think Uber Glue Dot!! Glubers are GIANT glue dots from Cosmo Cricket and they're available in a variety of sizes from 2" to 3" wide. Now you might be asking yourself, what would I do with a giant glue dot... you'd make flowers! It's really easy! If you go to Cosmo Cricket's blog, they have a variety of tutorials on how to make different kinds of flowers, but I thought I'd show you one of the easiest ways. All you need is a Gluber, a 1"x 12" strip of fabric or ribbon and a center.. which could be chipboard, a button, bling.. you name it! For this project, I used Bo Bunny's new Ad Lib Trims and Chipboard.

To start, just peel off one side of the backing to the Gluber. (Try not to touch the uncovered Gluber, you'll find yourself fighting to unstick your fingers!) Start the strip of fabric, good side up about 1/2" from the outer edge of the Gluber. Press the fabric strip around the edge of the Gluber, finger pleating as you go.

Go all the way around the Gluber, and when you get back to the beginning, trim any remaining fabric.

To complete your flower, press the center item into the middle and voila, you have a custom flower for your project. To attach to your page (or album, or headband, or... you name it!) peel the remaining film from the back of the Gluber and stick!
